CPAP Trials FAQ

What is a CPAP Trial?

A CPAP trial lets you try out a CPAP machine to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) for a set period. During the trial, you can experiment with different CPAP masks and get support from a Resmed Sleep Coach* to help you adjust. The trial usually lasts about 30 days, but you can extend it as long as needed.

*Resmed Sleep Coaches are sales and customer service representatives who have received training in sleep health. They can give general information about sleep health, sleep disorders and products that may help improve your sleep. They are not qualified healthcare professionals and cannot provide medical advice. We recommend you continue to consult your GP.

How much is a CPAP Trial?

A CPAP Trial with Resmed Australia can start from $35 AUD a week, using either the AirSense 10 or AirSense 11 CPAP Machines. There’s no sign-up fee or lock-in contract!

How do I get on a CPAP Trial?

You can simply visit one of our stores or order through our online retailer. You'll be able to pick up your CPAP machine and mask or have them conveniently delivered right to your home.

Can Medicare cover a CPAP Trial?

Medicare cannot cover a CPAP Trial. For private insurance coverage, please contact your insurance provider.

What Happens after the CPAP Trial?

After the CPAP trial, you will have a follow-up with your Resmed Sleep Coach*  or healthcare provider to discuss the effectiveness of the therapy. If CPAP therapy is deemed suitable, you may continue using the CPAP machine, and Medicare or your insurance may cover the ongoing costs.

If any damage is done to the machine whilst in your care, you will be liable to pay for that damage.
